Hi!

Welcome to A Little Whimsy! A Little Whimsy is a baby, children's, and gift shop that opened in Downtown Haddonfield, New Jersey in October 2020.

A Little Whimsy is owned and operated by me, Halle Hird!  I am a wife, mom of two, former elementary teacher, and a serial shopper!  Owning a boutique has been a dream of mine for a very long time, but it really started to take shape when I became pregnant and gave birth to my daughter, Ella in 2014. That's when I fell deep into the hole of smaller, independent clothing and accessory brands and never quite found my way out. The good news (for my wallet, and you) is that now I shop for A Little Whimsy and pass my finds on to you!

The primary focus when looking for products to stock the shelves at our store is, "Is this product FUN?". There's a lot of other criteria, but that is the first thing I ask myself. I want our store to be a fun place for kids and moms alike to come into. Bonus points for women-owned, sustainably-made, aesthetically pleasing products. I am so proud that our shelves are filled with products designed and made by other mamas, black and minority makers, and designers who consider the impact their products make on our planet.

Besides all the fun and pretty products and clothing on our shelves, you'll find lots of family when you enter our door. I am here 99% of the time, but if you're a local Sunday shopper, you've probably met my mom, Sandy. My husband, Dave, can be seen hanging shelves and even steaming clothes! My aunt and sister stop in to help out, and my kids are here before and after school, t-ball games, and gymnastics. It's a true family affair, and I couldn't be more thankful for that!

I'm asked all the time what it's like to open and run a business during a Pandemic, and the truth is ... I don't know! I don't have anything to compare it to because this is all I've ever known. What I do know is that we have the most amazing customers/shoppers/friends who have shown up for us since Day 1! I can't wait to see what the future holds post-pandemic, but we're having so much fun right now!
